Legumbres Luengo
Legumbres Luengo is a Spanish company leader in the pulse industry with more than a hundred years of history.
That means they offer a wide range of high quality dried and cooked pulses not only for Spanish market but for international consumers too. Their factories are located in Riego de la Vega and Onzonilla, both in León province.
The Project
After analysing current warehouse processes and identifying infrastructure and equipments limitation, we used information obtained during previous project phase regarding to stock sizing and flows definition, such as volumes to be handled, mono and multi client references and logistic handling units used for picking.
We made a detailed study about orders, brands and rotation to define warehouse configuration by optimizing and reducing movements during operations.
Layout was defined, storage solutions were described recommending the optimum location for each article taking into account insights detected during our research.
Finally, we proposed relevant changes in warehouse process management to ease operations efficiency and control. System requirements were defined so the customer could compare
The Results
The client started up projects for the acquisition of the necessary racks for the finished goods warehouse while continuing with its operations.
The client introduced a new WMS to support new designed processes enabling better accuracy and productivity.
