Douglas is an international beauty, parfum and cosmetic retail chain with German origin. It counts with more than 2.000 stores in Europe and more than 20.000 employees. In Spain, in 2019 its network had more than 300 stores and a distribution center. All articles are supplied to stores from the distribution center.
Douglas Spain asked us to select a forecast and replenishment (F&R) solution to optimize stock increasing service levels and reducing inventory in stores, distribution center and e-commerce channel.
Howdazz identified 96 F&R solutions and prepared an initial report with references in beauty retail, external reports and feedback provided by Douglas countries already running F&R solutions.
A deeper evaluation was run for 13 vendors that were interviewed and played a demo for the selection team.
6 vendors were invited to the RFQ process. Besides completing a questionnaire, vendors also ran a presentation and demo for Douglas. Some clients were interviewed.
Douglas Spain chose a solution and started its implementation several months later.
Douglas Group required our services one year later to run a similar selection emphasizing Artificial Intelligence software vendor capabilities.
