Transport design and optimisation

Cloud applications allowing route optimisation and real-time tracking have proliferated since the launch of Google Maps and Waze. These technologies have simplified projects which were long and complex in years 2000-2010.

To correctly address a transport project, the right combination of transport vendors and vehicles should be considered according to distances, access and requirements related to the goods to move. We could end up with a combination of people on foot, bikes, motorbikes, vans and trucks where we could add combinations of isotherm, bi-temperature, tri-temperature and different modes of propulsion.

Transport activity is regulated and it is key to respect legal terms regarding working timetables, vehicle maximum load weight, required permits and documentation depending on the nature of transported goods and public infrastructure use restrictions.

Uberisation of logistics, the development of robots and autonomous vehicles are reshaping this industry.
